The Short Version
SolveItLocal does not collect, store, process, or transmit any personal data. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your inputs, results, and calculations never leave your device. There is no server, no database, and no analytics cookie tracking your behavior.
What Data We Collect
None. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any personally identifiable information.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
- We do not use third-party analytics that track individual users (e.g., Google Analytics).
- We do not transmit your calculator inputs to any server.
- Your calculations run entirely in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the page.
Local Storage
Some calculators use your browser's localStorage to save your inputs between sessions (e.g., cut list entries, unit preferences). This data:
- Is stored only on your device, in your browser's local storage.
- Is never transmitted to any server.
- Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or using the "Clear All" button within each calculator.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are most popular, what countries visitors come from). Cloudflare Web Analytics:
- Does not use cookies.
- Does not track individual users.
- Does not collect personally identifiable information.
- Processes data in aggregate only.
For more information, see Cloudflare's Web Analytics privacy commitment.
Amazon Associates Program
SolveItLocal is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you click an Amazon affiliate link on our site, Amazon may set cookies on your browser to track the referral. This is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice, not by SolveItLocal. We do not receive any personal information about you from Amazon — only aggregate sales reports.
As an Amazon Associate, SolveItLocal earns from qualifying purchases.
Third-Party Advertising
We may display advertisements from third-party ad networks. If and when we do, those networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your browsing activity. You can opt out of personalized advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance or by using your browser's cookie settings.
Feedback Widget
Some pages include a "Was this tool helpful?" feedback widget. If you voluntarily submit feedback:
- Your response (Yes/No and optional message) is sent to our team via a Cloudflare Pages Function.
- We do not collect your name, email, or IP address with the feedback.
- The feedback is used solely to improve our tools.
Children's Privacy
SolveItLocal does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from any user, this policy applies equally to all visitors regardless of age.
GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since SolveItLocal does not collect or process any personal data:
- There is no personal data to access, rectify, erase, or port.
- We do not require consent for data processing because no processing occurs.
- If third-party ad networks are active, they operate under their own GDPR-compliant consent mechanisms.
If you have questions about your rights, please contact us using the information below.
CCPA (California Users)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them. SolveItLocal does not sell personal information and does not collect personal information beyond what is described in this policy (which is none).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SolveItLocal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
